If you have worked in some form of organisation at a point in your life, either now or in the past, you may be familiar with this question.
Most organisational groupings have a go at answering the question of purpose as a means of gaining cohesion amongst their workforce and giving clarity to the outside world.
When it comes to us as individuals, however, we suspect the question is less frequently asked and the answer may be far less obvious. For some of us it will simply amount to survival and having our basic needs met. For others the answers will be more profound, and may extend to identifying and going after meaningful goals, making a difference to the lives of others or contributing to a cause that you believe in. A sense of purpose may also change over time, maybe even quite materially.
What does it mean to you? Has your sense of purpose changed over time? Do let us know and share your thoughts and ideas with others.
