My daughter Rachel and I were inspired to set up this website by a fantastic book, 'Extra Time', written by Camilla Cavendish.
Instead of treating the ageing of society as a problem, the book highlights the opportunities that this trend offers to us as individuals and to society.
I have spent my working life in the business world and have no plans to stop working as I find business fascinating and stimulating, in particular the people dimension. Outside of work my family keeps me busy; married for 49 years, two children and five grandchildren. I'm also a big Spurs fan (it runs in the family).
Rachel undertook a science degree at university and went on to work as a lawyer in the City for a number of years before having three boys. Before and after having children she has always been interested in reading the latest scientific developments in healthy living. She regularly tries out new ideas for good nutrition on her family, which they mostly enjoy! Now the boys are approaching secondary school she is hoping to be able to spend more time exercising herself to improve her health and fitness, something she needs to focus on as a recent scan showed her bones to be osteopenic. She is planning on running the London Marathon in 2025 and is slowly learning to play golf so that she and her husband can have a joint hobby in years to come!
