The Richard Branson exercise and diet

Richard Branson was described by his school teachers 60 years ago as ‘a bit lazy, a bit thick’ but seems to have done alright despite this insight.

He now spends much of his time keeping fit. According to an article in the Sunday Times, he spends three or four hours a day in various forms of exercise, enjoying the endorphin rush this gives him. Exercise takes various forms; tennis, bike rides, visiting his gym for stretching, squats, pull-ups, and weights. He also takes ice baths.

He is disciplined about his diet, regularly fasting for 16 hours a day, often missing dinner to restrict his calorie intake. He has also given up caffeine and alcohol except for an occasional glass of champagne on special occasions.

The result of all this is that he claims to be the same weight today, 12 stone, as he was in his early 20s.
