A 102 year old lady, Manette Baillie, who served in the Second World War in the Women’s Royal Naval Service, took a sky dive to raise funds for charity. In so doing she became Britain’s oldest parachutist.
Her jump raised money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the East Anglian Air Ambulance. The air ambulance once saved her son’s life after a diving accident.
Manette is an active centenarian. At the age of 100 she drove round Silverstone in a Ferrari, reaching a top speed of 103 mph. She regularly hosts coffee mornings at her home to raise money and also visits her village hall twice a week for the games evening playing Scrabble and backgammon.
